Disney Cruise Line’s New ‘The Lion King’-Inspired Dining Experience Coming to the Disney Destiny
The Disney Destiny, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship inspired by heroes and villains, is set to make waves in late 2025. Among its exciting features is the debut of a unique family dining experience exclusive to this ship.
Introducing Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, an immersive dining experience that brings the iconic songs and legendary moments from “The Lion King” to life. This celebration of the beloved music from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film promises to captivate guests of all ages.
The venue will be inspired by the African savanna, featuring artistic depictions of animals and nature brought to life through lighting and special effects. Large windows along the back wall will transform from stunning sunrises to enchanting sunsets throughout the meal. The center of the restaurant will feature tiered risers resembling African drums, adding to the authentic atmosphere.
A vibrant ensemble of live musicians and storytellers will take the stage, guiding guests on a musical journey through the award-winning soundtrack of “The Lion King.” Throughout the meal, the band and performers will revisit iconic songs using authentic African instruments and theatrical props to represent the story and characters. Highlights include:
- Productions of “Circle of Life” and “Hakuna Matata”
- A mash-up of “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” and “Be Prepared,” showcasing the hero-villain dynamic
- An instrumental version of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” paired with an interpretive dance
- A moving rendition of “He Lives in You” from the sequel film and Broadway show
